USE OF THE CAPTAIN’S LOG AND PIRATE MAKER APPLICATIONS ON SMARTPHONE DEVICES

When you use our Captain’s Log and Pirate Maker applications on your smartphone device, they will connect to us using your login, password, and the phone number from your device to confirm your account with us.

When you set up either app, they will check on your mobile country code, mobile network code, service provider name, and your carrier name. This information may be used by Jolly Roger for technical support purposes only.

USE OF THE DEFENDER APPLICATION FOR ANDROID PHONE DEVICES

When you use our Defender app for Android phone devices, it will connect to us using your login, password, and phone number from your Android phone to confirm your account with us.  It will also send us the callerID of incoming phone calls for the sole purpose of deciding whether or not callers are known telemarketers or appear on your personal whitelist or blacklist. This part of the service assists the app in determining whether to allow the call to ring through to you or pass it to a “pirate” (our automated robots). The information is also passed to us to generate an email asking if you want to whitelist or blacklist a number. If a pirate engaged the caller or a voicemail was left, the phone number is also included in the associated emails that are sent to you. The incoming phone numbers are used for no other purposes.  The Defender app has access to the user’s contact list, but that information is not uploaded unless you choose to do so. The user’s contact list is only used by the app to determine whether the user knows the caller. If it has been uploaded, your contact list is only used to add to your account’s whitelist stored on the Website.

When you set up the app, it will check on your mobile country code, mobile network code, service provider name, and your carrier name.  This information is used to determine which codes are used to change your voicemail settings. This information may also be used by Jolly Roger for technical support purposes.
