I am going to appear on television(!) soon and I will have more eyes on my Kickstarter intro video. Those in the know tell me that I should have an animation of one of my telemarketer robot calls. Are there any artists out there willing to animate one of these? Naturally I will sing your praises all over YouTube, Facebook, Kickstarter, and JollyRogerTelephone.com; and free JollyRogerTelephone service for the life of the product!
As you all know, I’m a telephone guy. I’m a decent programmer but typically in the context of telephony. This is probably obvious when you read my Kickstarter and watch my videos – I’m not much for animation, graphics, or flashy presentations. But if you want your telephone to work, I’m your guy!
I have a high-profile TV appearance on February 20th, so I really need to get this animation posted before then.
Please email me at roger -at- jollyrogertelephone.com or message me through my Facebook page.
Thanks all!
Roger
You might want to try looking around http://deviantart.com. There are animators there who probably like to help you. I make a post there on my account if you want (I’m not particularly well know though).
Since I’m even less well-known there, that would be great! Thank you!
Okay I posted a journal about this and the bot here http://shadowraptor15.deviantart.com/journal/Jolly-Roger-Telephone-co-is-looking-for-a-animator-590657076
Let me know if I got any thing wrong.
If all else fails I can do some stick figures for you. 😛
Wow that was great! Thank you! And stick figures are fine!
Okay! 🙂
I’m looking forward to your TV appearance, please share broadcast details as soon as you can. The TV appearance (assuming a “high-profile” appearance means it’s on national TV) will provide the boost your Kickstarter needs. But it won’t take long before the whole telemarketing world will know about your bot, especially if you go on TV. The telemarketing world is pretty small – probably smaller than you think – and well-connected (no pun intended). One of the last calls you published, the one with the different operators mocking the bot, is a big red flag! They realize something is going on. If you do not change your recordings anytime soon, they’ll be able to identify your bot in no time and your bot will no longer lose their time. Anyway I assume part of your Kickstarter promise is to make new recordings and especially add more randomness and variance so the bot cannot be identified that easily. Looking forward to it 🙂 !
It’s “national” TV, but in Australia! Turns out I have a bunch of new friends down there. This is a worldwide problem. I have been on New Zealand and South African radio! Crazy.
Yes, the Kickstarter is to make new recordings and stay ahead of their autodialers. Even if they figure out it’s a recording within a minute, as long as I disrupt their autodialing operation then I can reduce their call counts dramatically.
Yep, we Aussies hate those marketing calls. And we’ll love that robot!
I need an anti-telemarket robot that has angirl’s voice, because telemarketers who call this address often ask for “Kate” (me) rather than asking for my husband.
I am working on it with a good friend of mine. I should have a female bit soon. Please watch the web site for updates!!!
Is this animation thing happening?
